Data sources

This tool combines publicly available data from three sources. Retraction Watch maintains the most comprehensive index of retracted research publications, released under CC BY 4.0. OpenAlex provides open scholarly metadata including persistent author identifiers, released under CC0. PubMed and the NLM Catalog provide journal metadata in the public domain.

The OBGYN Retraction Monitor is a non-commercial research tool intended to help journal editors and integrity researchers identify potentially untrustworthy authors. It is not affiliated with Retraction Watch, OpenAlex, or the National Library of Medicine, and no data is monetised.

The author “concern level” classification is computed locally from Retraction Watch reasons; the underlying databases are not modified. See About the Concern Level Classification for details.
